Today we made “CHIMAKI” and a birthday cake with the students. One of the students had a birthday a few days before, so we celebrated with a handmade cake. CHIMAKI is a popular traditional Japanese sweet in the western part of Japan, which is mochi wrapped in bamboo leaves. Afterward, we played tag outside with the students and our assistants.
本日はちまきと誕生日ケーキを作りました。一人の生徒が教室の数日前に誕生日を迎えていたので一緒にケーキを作ってみんなでお祝いをしました。またちまきという西日本でよく食べられているお菓子も作りました。竹の葉で来るんであるお餅できな粉を付けておいしく食べました。その後は外で鬼ごっこをして遊びました。みんなよく走りとても楽しい時間となりました☺
